Privacy policy

What this website does with your information

The short version: this website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from a third party. The only information it handles is what you type into one of its three forms, and that is emailed to us so we can reply. This page covers the website at lakeonrails.com. The Lake On Rails application itself has its own privacy notice, provided when an organisation subscribes.

Who we are

Lake On Rails is a product of Scorchsoft Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07246693) at 13 Portland Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B16 9HN, United Kingdom. Scorchsoft Ltd is the data controller for information collected through this website. You can reach us at info@scorchsoft.com.

What we collect, and why

The forms

The demo request, contact and partner forms ask for your name, an email address, and depending on the form your organisation, your role, a few multiple-choice answers about the size of your business, where your reporting runs and your timing, and a free-text message. We use this to reply to you and, if you ask for a demo, to prepare for it. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you chose to make.

A submitted form is delivered to our inbox as an email. It is not written to a database on this website and is not added to a mailing list. We keep the email for as long as the enquiry is live and for up to two years afterwards, so we have context if you come back.

Server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived request logs (including IP addresses) for security and operations, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.

What we do not collect

  • No cookies of any kind, first- or third-party.
  • No analytics, no pixels, no session recording.
  • No fonts, scripts or images loaded from third-party servers.
  • Nothing stored in your browser.

Who we share it with

Form submissions are delivered by MailerSend, an email service provider, acting as our processor. Cloudflare hosts the site. Neither uses your information for any purpose of its own. We do not sell or share your information with anyone else, and we do not send it outside the UK and EEA except as those providers' standard operations require under appropriate safeguards.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict it. Email info@scorchsoft.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. We will not start collecting anything new without saying so here.
